Research is being conducted on the relationship between soil microbiomes and carbon sequestration, particularly in the context of global change. Studies are examining the role of soil microbiomes in different ecosystems, including grasslands and croplands, and exploring ways to manipulate them to promote carbon sequestration. The use of advanced technologies, such as metagenomics and biosensors, is also being investigated to better understand and manage soil microbiomes for sustainable agriculture and a circular bioeconomy.
