A fossil previously believed to be a young tyrannosaurus rex has been identified as a new species of tyrannosaur. The fossil, which may be related to the mysterious dinosaur nanotyrannus, was found in a "dueling dinosaurs" fossil, suggesting it may have been engaged in combat with another dinosaur. The discovery appears to confirm that nanotyrannus is a distinct species, rather than a juvenile t rex.
