Researchers have also been working to catalog all known RNA viruses that can infect humans, with one such catalog reportedly mapping 239 of them. Additionally, scientists have identified new viruses with potential human infection risk, including a coronavirus in Thailand and a bat-borne virus in South Asia, as well as addressing outbreaks such as the Nipah virus.
