Researchers have developed a method for self-aligned single-electrode actuation of tangential and wineglass modes using PMN-PT. This technology is related to the development of a cantilever beam-based piezoelectric micromachined ultrasonic transducer. The transducer has potential applications, including in-air rangefinding.
