A US destroyer, known as the "Sammy B" or USS Samuel B Roberts, has been discovered as the deepest shipwreck ever found. The ship, which was involved in a battle against a Japanese fleet in World War II, was sunk in 1944 off the Philippines. The wreck's discovery has been confirmed, with a former US Navy commander and explorer Victor Vescovo reportedly involved in the finding.
