Spotify has acquired podcast startups Gimlet Media and Anchor, with the total cost of the acquisitions reported to be around $340 million. The company reportedly plans to spend up to $500 million on acquisitions in 2019, although the total cost of its podcast company acquisitions this year may be lower, at $404 million.
