A study has been conducted on intestinal parasitic infections and gut microbiota in cancer patients at a tertiary teaching hospital in Malaysia. Research suggests that gut microbes may influence the severity of intestinal parasitic infections, and that these infections can alter the balance of gut microbiota. The interactions between parasitic helminths and gut microbiota are being explored in various contexts, including human health and wildlife ecosystems.
