Malware has been found in wallpapers on the Steam Workshop, potentially putting users' accounts at risk. The malware, which can spread itself and may be able to steal login details or crypto wallet data, has been downloaded tens of thousands of times through the Wallpaper Engine app. The extent of the issue is unclear, but it appears that dozens of malicious packages have been identified.
