There are reports of sudden loss of vision following cosmetic autologous fat transfer procedures. The incidents are associated with catastrophic embolism, stroke, and ischemic ocular syndrome, which can be managed with treatments such as tissue plasminogen activator. These complications appear to be rare vascular events resulting from the injection of autologous fat into the face.
