PECO's profits have increased by almost 50% following 2025 rate hikes. The utility company had previously sought to raise rates, with reports of a proposed 12.5% increase for electricity customers, and bills did rise by about $5 on average starting June 1. A strike by PECO workers, the first in over 100 years, was also reported, but it appears to have ended with a deal between the union and the utility company.
