Pairwise has licensed its Fulcrum CRISPR platform to Mars for research and development related to cacao. The partnership aims to improve the sustainability of cocoa production, possibly through the development of climate-resilient cacao crops. However, some reports suggest that Pairwise has also licensed its CRISPR platform to other entities, such as the International Rice Research Institute, for work on different crops.
