The Palisades and Eaton wildfires destroyed 11,000 homes, but the rebuilding process has been slow, with less than 10% of homeowners having obtained permits to rebuild. A total of 1,320 permits have been issued so far. A trial is also underway for a man accused of starting one of the fires, with a judge having ruled on the admissibility of certain evidence.
