Researchers are using convolutional neural networks to classify complex carbonate rocks from the Brazilian pre-salt. Studies are also exploring the use of machine learning and other techniques to analyze and classify various types of rocks and minerals, including those from other locations such as the Asmari Formation and the Mediterranean Sea. The approaches being investigated include integrating different methods, such as petrographic image classification, NMR, and computer vision analysis, to better understand the properties of these rocks.
