Research has been conducted on the vaginal microbial communities of Chilean women using self-sampling and nanopore sequencing. The study may investigate the link between vaginal microbiota and sexually transmitted infections, as well as compare traditional methods to next-generation sequencing. The research appears to involve a comprehensive approach, including characterization of prokaryotes and eukaryotes and a systematic review of methods.
