A study found that routine use of ECMO in AMICS patients is not protective, as reported by ECLS-SHOCK. However, there are conflicting reports about the effectiveness of Impella, with some data suggesting a survival benefit, while another trial, the RECOVER IV Impella Trial, was halted. The implications of these findings for the treatment of AMICS patients are being further explored.
