Research suggests that a specific fusion protein, Rab22a-NeoF1, may play a role in promoting osteosarcoma lung metastasis through its secretion into exosomes. The protein and its associated pathways are being studied as potential targets for treatment. However, other factors and mechanisms, including different fusion genes and cellular processes, are also being investigated for their possible involvement in osteosarcoma progression and metastasis.
