A raccoon has tested positive for rabies in Chatham County. The location of the raccoon is reported to be near Ferguson Avenue and Diamond Causeway, and also possibly in Pooler. There may be additional cases of rabies in wild animals in the area, with reports of alerts issued in Chatham and Liberty Counties, and possibly another case in a different location, metro Atlanta.
