Racial disparities have been found in the prevalence and care of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), with some reports suggesting that ADHD is underdiagnosed and undertreated in minority communities. Clinicians are being urged to consider racial bias in the evaluation and treatment of patients, particularly black children. The existence and extent of these disparities are being studied and discussed in various medical and research contexts.
