Volkswagen's Golf GTI and R models are expected to continue using petrol power. The current Golf model may be the last in its line, but reports also suggest that petrol power could remain an option for the Golf until at least 2035. However, there are also indications that an electric version of the GTI may be in development, potentially as early as 2026.
