Russia and China have completed their fifth annual joint patrol, with their warships reaching Kamchatka for replenishment. The joint military exercises, which included air patrols and drills in the Sea of Japan, prompted Japan and South Korea to scramble their jets in response. The patrol also reportedly extended to the West Pacific, where Chinese naval ships were spotted off an Alaska island by a US Coast Guard patrol.
