A parasitic illness called cyclosporiasis is causing gastrointestinal symptoms, including diarrhea, in multiple states. The illness has been reported in at least 31 states, with dozens hospitalized, and may be linked to contaminated food, possibly fresh produce. The source of the outbreak is not yet clear, with cases reported in states including Maryland and Massachusetts.
