The effectiveness of atrocity prevention at the United Nations is being questioned. There are suggestions that the current approach, which includes the responsibility to protect (R2P) and the Security Council, may be insufficient. Alternative methods beyond these frameworks are being considered to improve atrocity prevention efforts.
