A new pangenome reference has been developed, with one study focusing on 36 chinese populations. The development of pangenomes, including the 1000 Chinese Pangenome, may improve genetic screening and empower medical and population genetics. Research on pangenomes is also being applied to other areas, including the study of genetic diversity in other populations and even plant breeding.
