Research is being conducted on the south american low-level jet, exploring its climatology, variability, and changes. The jet's influence on precipitation trends and water level fluctuations in southern south america is being examined, as well as its potential role in extreme weather events. The relationship between the jet and other climate phenomena, such as el niño, is also being studied.
