A novel by Jon Ransom, possibly "The Whale Tattoo" or "The Gallopers", is being discussed, with some outlets reviewing it as a powerful voice of gay working-class life. The book has been recognized with a Polari prize, which Ransom has won either for the first time or for the second time in two years. A film adaptation of one of Ransom's novels is also reportedly in the works, with Tom Brittney set to make his feature directorial debut.
