Researchers are studying the effects of microgravity on bone structure and function, with some focusing on the comparison to prolonged bed rest conditions. Various studies have investigated changes in skeletal muscle, bone loss, and potential biomarkers of resilience in astronauts, as well as the use of tissue chip technology and bone marrow analogs in microgravity environments. The behavior of bones and fractures under microgravity conditions is also being examined through finite element analysis and other methods.
