A prehistoric giant salamander is reported to have grown to almost 4 feet long. However, other reports seem to be focused on dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures, such as those found in southeast asia and patagonia, rather than the salamander. It is unclear if these reports are related to the discovery of the giant salamander or are separate stories.
