Research on the genetics of gastroesophageal reflux disease (gerd) has led to the identification of risk loci. A method called transformer-based insightgwas, which was pretrained on genetic data related to major depressive disorder, has improved the discovery of genetic factors associated with gerd. Additionally, some of these risk loci have been found to be associated with subsequent severe esophageal diseases.
