A blood-based discovery involving miRNA is being translated into molecular testing for the clinical diagnosis of endometriosis. However, it appears that similar approaches are also being explored for the diagnosis of other diseases, including Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, colorectal cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, prostate cancer, and thyroid cancer. The use of miRNA profiling and other techniques, such as liquid biopsy and machine learning, is being investigated for biomarker discovery in these various conditions.
