This treatment, known as histotripsy, has been reported to not only destroy tumors but also potentially stimulate the immune system to attack cancer cells outside the liver. Several medical institutions are among the first to offer this novel cancer treatment, which is said to have generated significant excitement for its potential to treat liver cancer without surgery.
