There are updates and recent advances in the field of pheochromocytoma syndromes, including genetics, biochemical evaluation, and imaging. International consensus statements and clinical practice guidelines have been issued for the diagnosis and management of pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma in various populations. The role of imaging tests and the understanding of underlying pathways, such as hypoxia signaling, are also being explored in the diagnosis and treatment of these conditions.
