A newly studied exoplanet, L 98-59 d, is reported to be a molten super-Earth with a volatile-rich evolution. This discovery may represent a new class of planets, characterized by deep magma oceans, which is distinct from those found in our solar system. The findings suggest that such extreme worlds, with features like magma and sulfur, could be a new type of planet that exists in the Milky Way.
