Veterans are continuing to serve their communities in various ways after leaving the military. Some are being recognized for their ongoing service, while others are participating in organized events, such as the VFW's Day of Service, to give back to their local communities. It appears that many veterans remain committed to serving others, even after their military careers have ended.
