A new professor of zoonosis at the University of Helsinki claims that it may be possible to prevent the next pandemic. The university has recruited several international researchers, possibly including this professor, with significant funding from the Research Council of Finland. The focus of this research appears to include the study of diseases transmitted from animals to humans, such as rodent-borne diseases.
