A molecular simulation study has examined the potential of nanosheets as carriers for the drug gemcitabine. Other research has also explored the interaction between certain nanomaterials and drugs, including carboplatin and the use of polymer-functionalized nanoplatforms for therapeutic applications. The studies suggest that nanomaterials may have potential uses in targeted drug delivery.
