CubeSats and SmallSats are being utilized in various space missions, including studying storms, exploring exoplanets, and conducting deep space biology research. NASA is involved in several of these missions, having selected concept studies for CubeSat and SmallSat missions and preparing to launch certain satellites, such as those related to the Artemis I and INCUS missions. The use of these small satellites is seen as a significant development, with potential to make major contributions to scientific research, despite posing certain challenges.
