Oak forests in Lorestan Province, Western Iran, are experiencing decline due to abiotic factors. Research is being conducted to monitor and assess the decline, including the use of satellite data and algorithms to track outbreaks and disease. The decline of these forests is also being studied in relation to fire protection and habitat preservation for vertebrates.
