A US c-17 has carried a nuclear reactor in a test, marking the first time a US airborne microreactor has been transported in such a manner. The transport is part of an effort that could potentially lead to the use of microreactors to power US air force bases. The air force has identified at least two bases as possible hosts for these microreactors.
