Researchers have found a method for direct access to a neutral alumene through a process involving CO reduction by a dialane and further CO homologation. However, it is unclear if this discovery is related to other reported advancements, such as the creation of a lithium-aluminium heterobimetallic dimetallocene or the development of climate-neutral aviation solutions. The connection between these findings and the study of dioxygen evolution in collisions of carbon dioxide with surfaces is also not apparent.
