Research is being conducted to identify vaccine antigens for Streptococcus pyogenes that are recognized by both B and T cells in humans. Studies have explored various antigens, including those derived from the M12 protein and the molecular chaperone PrsA, and have investigated immune responses in both adults and children. The goal of this research appears to be the development of a protective vaccine against Group A Streptococcus, with multiple approaches and targets being investigated.
