The james webb space telescope has measured the mass of a dormant black hole from the early universe for the first time. This black hole is reportedly around 10 billion light-years away and has a mass of 6 billion times that of the sun. The discovery is considered a record for the most distant dormant black hole found, surpassing previous records by a significant margin.
