Racial disparities have been found in the prevalence and treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Some reports suggest that ADHD is underdiagnosed and undertreated in minority communities, particularly among black and latino children. The extent and causes of these disparities are being examined, with some studies indicating that racial bias may play a role in evaluation and treatment.
