Researchers have compiled a near-global ocean mesoscale eddy atmospheric-oceanic-biological interaction observational dataset. Studies using this dataset have explored various aspects of oceanic activity, including the role of mesoscale eddies in enhancing the oceanic uptake of CO2 and their impact on global ocean pCO2 variation regimes. The dataset has also been used to investigate the three-dimensional structure of oceanic mesoscale eddies and their influence on weather patterns, such as rain systems.
