Lurbinectedin has shown improved survival in extensive-stage small cell lung cancer (ES-SCLC) when used as a maintenance treatment. The combination of lurbinectedin and atezolizumab as a first-line treatment for ES-SCLC has been recommended for approval by the CHMP and has also been approved in Australia and Singapore. The development of new treatments for ES-SCLC, including lurbinectedin, may signal a shift in the care for this type of cancer.
