Asserting that without a Samajwadi Party government in Uttar Pradesh, the youth have no future, party chief Akhilesh Yadav has urged the youth wing to put in all its efforts in the by-elections to 10 assembly seats in the state and the subsequent 2027 Assembly elections.

“The state assembly by-elections are approaching and with the PDA in the lead, we must work among the people to lead the Samajwadi Party to victory. Alongside this, we must start preparations for the state assembly elections in 2027. Youth will play a crucial and important role in all these elections,” he asserted.

Akhilesh Yadav was addressing national and state office-bearers of the Samajwadi youth organisation on Saturday.

He said the future of the younger generation was bleak due to the wrong policies of the BJP government. There were no jobs for even educated people and they had become delivery boys, he alleged.

Akhilesh Yadav directed to conduct awareness campaigns among students and youth in universities to make them aware of the situation. He also instructed them to conduct entry campaigns for the Samajwadi Party and be active in it.

“The campaign will involve setting up camps to reach out to students by listening to their problems and providing them information about the work undertaken during the Samajwadi regime. Alongside this, seminars on the current usefulness of student unions will also be organised,” he said.

The SP president said caste census was needed to make reservation proportionate to the population. Only then can the concept of social justice be realised. Along with structural reforms in education, he also stressed on making medical research free and transparency in the selection of vice-chancellors.

Akhilesh Yadav said there was a conspiracy to take away reservation rights by leaking PDA documents like Agniveru recruitment, police recruitment and NEET exam under the BJP government. With inflation and corruption at their peak, the hike in tuition fees in educational institutions has gone unchecked.

He asserted that despite government claims, the country’s economy has not improved. “Without the strength of the agriculture sector, neither the country nor the state can develop. Agriculture is the backbone of our economy. Farmers should get the benefit of minimum cost and MSP obligations. The IT sector should also be given due importance and promoted,” he added.
