Centre reissues Western Ghats eco-sensitive zone notification

Sarnath, the historic Buddhist site near Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, was recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. According to UNESCO records cited in the report, the previous Indian inscription was in 2024 — the Maratha Military Landscapes, spread across Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.
