Gujarat tops NITI Aayog's first Investment Friendliness Index 2026

NITI Aayog released its first Investment Friendliness Index 2026, assessing 17 major States on how conducive their environment is for attracting investment. Gujarat topped the index with 56.6 points, ahead of Maharashtra (53.7) and Tamil Nadu (53.3).

Gujarat topped NITI Aayog's inaugural Investment Friendliness Index 2026 with 56.6 points, in an assessment covering 17 major States. Maharashtra came second with 53.7 points and Tamil Nadu third with 53.3. The index is the first such ranking of States on the ease of attracting investment.
