India to lease two MQ-9B Sea Guardian drones for the Navy

India is set to lease two MQ-9B Sea Guardian remotely piloted drones for the Indian Navy. Equipped with advanced sensors, systems and payloads, the systems have been leased for ₹1,943 crore for a period of 30 months. The high-endurance drones will strengthen maritime surveillance and intelligence-gathering over India’s extended ocean areas.

Cochin Shipyard Limited launched the seventh anti-submarine warfare (ASW) vessel it is building for the Indian Navy. The launch adds to the Navy's indigenous warship-construction programme. Anti-submarine warfare vessels are tasked with detecting and countering hostile submarines, reinforcing the country's coastal and undersea defence capability.
