The Union Cabinet extended the PM-Kisan income-support scheme for four more years, allocating ₹3.15 lakh crore. Under the scheme, launched in February 2019, the Centre has so far transferred more than ₹4.47 lakh crore directly into farmers' bank accounts across 23 instalments. The continued direct transfers aim to sustain rural incomes and support agricultural investment for eligible landholding farmers.
