New F&O closing auction rules take effect from August 3
From August 3, stock exchanges overhauled how closing prices are set for stocks in the futures and options (F&O) segment. Instead of the average price over the last 30 minutes (3:00–3:30 p.m.), such stocks now get a separate closing auction. Normal trading ends at 3:15 p.m., after which orders are pooled and the single price matching the most orders becomes the official close.
